Transform Spaces into Visionary Stories
Live N Freedom is a vibrant and dynamic creative movement dedicated to exploring inner liberation through the power of art, storytelling, and the cultivation of common unity. We believe that every individual has a unique story to tell, and through our collective expressions, we can foster understanding, acceptance, and empowerment within communities. Our initiatives aim to connect diverse voices, encouraging collaboration and dialogue that transcends boundaries. By engaging in artistic endeavors, we provide a platform for participants to reflect on their experiences and aspirations, ultimately contributing to a richer narrative of human resilience and hope. Join us in celebrating the transformative potential of art.
Studio Art & Exhibitions
The I AM series explores the power of choosing who you are and embracing the responsibility that accompanies that choice. The phrase "I AM" is a bold declaration, empowering you to define yourself beyond society's labels and expectations.
These portraits are painted directly onto vintage proofs from the Werthan Packaging Co., originally created for burlap bags, establishing a visual dialogue between being perceived as a commodity and expressing authentic individuality. Society often tries to define us as products—shaped and categorized by our environment—but these figures resist that notion, showcasing their true energy and strength beyond external definitions.
When viewing these portraits, ask yourself: Do you see a product shaped by external circumstances, or do you sense the vibrant energy and spirit of someone boldly asserting their identity?
This series reminds us to thoughtfully consider what follows the phrase "I AM," as our thoughts, words, and actions shape who we become. Each individual depicted here confidently claims their narrative, inspiring us all to actively create the person we wish to become.
Voices Of The Future
With Voices of the Future, we teamed up with young people, all 18 and under, to design the concept behind the mural. We spent time talking with kids from elementary, middle, and high schools around North Nashville, asking questions that got them thinking and sharing their own stories about their community. We recorded their voices and used what they said to inspire the mural. Their voices were embedded into QR codes placed on the mural itself, so when you see it, you can also listen directly to the kids who inspired it.
